The American Industrial Center Sale..............

Saturday we joined in a large warehouse sale at the AIC. This is the building where we had our first loft space when we sold our line wholesale to department stores and smaller stores. That was in 1982! It was so nostalgic being there and seeing old friends who had businesses in the building. Children's wear designers, photographers, potpourri vendors, hand painted ceramic tile and bowl designers and so many more creative, wonderful people. Some of our best friends were made while there.

The two block long building was originally used for the American Can Company. It's in an area of San Francisco called Dogpatch located on the eastern side of the city, adjacent to the waterfront of San Francisco Bay.  It was pretty much no man's land back then and now is a bustling, thriving area with beautiful new buildings and a large UCSF research campus.

Lots of customers stopped by our booth and bought a few things. I hadn't seen some of these people in 5-10 years! It was a really fun day and made John and I start thinking about opening another retail store..........................
